Shadow is now the alpha dog of the pack. Merlin is laid back and only occasionally tests Shadow's dominance. In fact, he is happy to be number 3. Notice Shadow's ears are now spiked, which is unusual for a smooth collie. This ruined his chances of entering any more shows. Merlin's ears have remained perfect, but his coat didn't satisfy the blue merle show dog specification.
